Tucker HS Parents, 

On this last week of school for the semester/school year, please see the information below for this week:

  • Final Exam Schedule is here: Spring final 9-11.pdf
  • There are no after school activities this week so all students are expected to leave school during dismissal to study for exams 
  • No bookbags are allowed at school on Wednesday through Friday of this week, Chromebooks only
  • GRADES 9-11 CHROMEBOOK COLLECTION INFORMATION- Due to Regulations, the Department of Information and Instructional Technology(DIIT) has issued a directive that ALL school-issued devices and accessories must be collected, assessed, and stored by May 20, 2022.In order for this grand task to be completed, all Chromebooks, Chromebook Adapters (Chromebook Chargers), and Chromebook Carrying Cases will be collected at the completion of the Third (3rd) Period Final Exam which will be administered Friday, May 20, 2022.

  • Parents, in these last days/weeks of the semester, please ensure you have and continue to check your student's grades and attendance in the parent portal in Infinite Campus. 
  • This week is Senior Week. There will be a virtual Senior Parent Meeting on Weds at 6:00pm (link is forthcoming)

  • The school supply of disposable masks and bottle water is nearly depleted, please provide these items for your child if needed as the school will not be able to provide them any longer. 
  • As the weather and season changes, students must continue to adhere to the school dress code completely or they will not be able to attend classes.
  • Students cannot leave campus once they arrive to school unless they are checked out from the main office by a parent. They cannot leave campus for lunch or any other reason as it will be a discipline infraction.

  • As a reminder, next week is Spring Break and school is closed
  • There are no afterschool activities on Friday and all students will be cleared from inside the building after the 3:20pm dismissal
  • 11th and 12th grade parents, the last day to purchase Prom tickets is tomorrow (3/31) on the school webstore
  • 11th Grade Parents-- there will be a Junior Class Parent Meeting (in-person) on Thursday, 4/14/22 at 6:00pm in the Tucker HS Auditorium 
  • 10th &11th Grade Parents- please see the opportunity for your student to tour the Cross Keys Career Center for possible electives next year here

Please note the following updates for this week:

  • Testing- Georgia Milestones testing will begin April 19th go through April 28th.  Please ensure that your student is at school no later than 8am during the testing period.  Testing will begin promptly at 8am each day.  Students that are late will have to test during the make-up testing period.
  • Chromebooks- A Device Inventory Audit will be held at Tucker High School Monday, on March 28, 2022, and Tuesday, March 29, 2022.  Please remind your student(s) to bring their school-assigned Chromebook to school each of the Device Inventory Audit days to be scanned. If the Chromebook that your student is using does not have their name on the back of the Chromebook, please remind your student to see Dr. Allen before they enter the Device Inventory Audit area.

Tucker HS Parents, 

Please note the following:

  • Reminder that there is Senior Parent Meeting tomorrow night (Thursday, 3/17) at 6:00pm in the Tucker HS auditorium. This meeting is in-person for all parents of current 12th grade students
  • Beginning tomorrow, Thursday 3/17, vehicles will no longer have access to drive through the rear of the school after 8:00am. This area will be blocked off to improve monitoring and overall safety and will also remain closed through dismissal. This will also:
    • prevent vehicles from driving through outdoor class changes and through the bus lane during student dismissal
    • ensure the fire line is free from parked vehicles during and afterschool and prevent illegally parked vehicles along the track/practice field 
    • assist in monitoring vehicles in the parking deck and those attempting to enter/leave campus after 8:00am

  • Please ensure your clocks were set last night correctly for Daylight Saving Time. 
  • There is a Senior Class Parent Meeting this Thursday (3/17) at 6:00pm (in-person) in the Tucker HS Auditorium
  • ATTENTION SENIORS: Scholarships are beginning to arrive to our Tucker High School Counseling Department. Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the specific requirements detailed on the application and this is FREE monies you don't have to pay back and used for college expenses. Visit the Tucker High School Counselor web site ( Click on the tab at the top "Student Opportunities", then click "Scholarships!" Scholarships are posted weekly, so visit the site today and don't miss out on scholarship opportunities!  Many community scholarships are due on Monday.

Tucker HS Parents, 

Please note the following reminders for this week:

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Tuesday (3/8) from 3:30-5:30pm, please use this link or contact the teacher directly to follow up on a conference. This link will be open through 3:30pm tomorrow (Monday) to register for a conference:
  • This Friday (3/11) is a Teacher Workday so there is no school/classes
  • Student Dress Code Reminders- as the temperature begins to change, please remind your child of the dress code that will be enforced. They will not be allowed into class if they are in violation and parents will be notified immediately. The entire dress code can be seen online at the school website however here a few reminders:
    • No tank tops or half shirts can be worn (shoulders and midsection must be covered)
    • No spandex/biker shorts can be worn; regular shorts must be of the appropriate length 
    • No hats or hoods can be worn inside the school building
    • Shoes must be worn at tall times, no flip-flops or athletic slides/sandals
  • Parents, please also know that students cannot leave campus at any time (including lunch) without being checked-out in the office by a parent. Your child may tell you otherwise but they are not permitted to leave campus for any reason. Outside food/lunch also can not be brought on campus nor be delivered, we have a school cafeteria for students to have their prepared breakfast and lunch.

Please the updates below for this week:

  • School/classes resume tomorrow, Tuesday (2/22/22) as normal
  • Attendance- A reminder that school/1stperiod classes begin at 8:00am each day for all students. 
    • Unfortunately, we still have a very high number of students that arrive late (after 8:00am) day--on average there are close to 200 students late to their 1st period class this semester/since January. There is a direct correlation with class attendance and student success in class (i.e. 80% of the students with poor attendance to first period and 5th periods are failing those classes).  
    • Students that have multiple tardy infractions will begin to be issued disciplinary consequences this week 
    • Parents, please assist us in monitoring your child’s grades and attendance in Infinite Campus through the parent portal. Please email Ms. Humphery at to gain access if you do not have it.

This morning the DeKalb Schools Public Safety Department and Division of Safe Schools came and conducted a site visit here at Tucker High School. Please know this was a routine visit and there was no incident, we have since resumed our normal school day. Please let me know of any questions

Superintendent Mrs. Cheryl Watson-Harris will give her second State of the District address of the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

The virtual event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and stream live on DSTV and DCSD Family Engagement’s Facebook page. The address will be translated into our top five languages and can be viewed via Zoom at this link:

Mrs. Watson-Harris will share her focus for the 2022-2023 school year, which is equity, excellence, and empowerment. She will also discuss her vision for success, and other priorities, such as academic and professional growth, student and staff wellness, family and community engagement, and conditions for learning.

    • Students must wear a mask
    • Students will report to their homeroom at 8:00am tomorrow then go to first period afterwards 
  • Grades for first semester are able to be viewed online in Infinite Campus 
  • Please continue to monitor the district website for updates on health and wellness protocols

Parents will be able to pick up boxed meals (breakfast and lunch) on Weds- Friday of this week from 11:00am-1:00pm.
Please enter the bus lane from the Chamblee-Tucker Rd entrance as pick up is behind the cafeteria only.  There is no cost for these student meals.

Reminder that virtual instruction begins Wednesday (1/5) through Friday (1/7) with normal face-to-face classes resuming on Monday (1/10).

Students should have, or soon receive, an invitation from their teachers with the link/access code to each virtual classroom by class period. They need to check their DCSD email address and teacher webpages to ensure they receive this information. If a code is not received by tomorrow afternoon they can contact the teacher directly or administration to get access. Please let us know of any additional questions

Happy New Year Tucker HS Families, 

I hope everyone is safe and healthy as we begin 2022 and Spring Semester. As you may now be aware, the school district modified the calendar for this week now having all students begin class virtually for this week only. Virtual instruction begins on Wednesday (January 5th) and goes through Friday (January 7th).

  • A schedule and additional information will be sent out tomorrow regarding the virtual class schedule for Tucker HS students for this week
  • Teachers will provide students in their classes links to virtual instruction (as before) 
  • Normal/Face-to-face (in-person) instruction will resume at Tucker HS on Monday, January 10th 
  • Final grades from first semester are still being updated and will not be completed until later this week
  • Please continue to let us know if your child is sick and/or otherwise unable to attend school virtually this week
  • Other DCSD information and COVID updates can be found on the district website here:
  • Chromebook information- students that are in need of a Chromebook may report to Tucker High School Monday, January 3, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Tuesday, January 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to obtain a Chromebook. Parents/Guardians are required to accompany their students to the Tucker High School Front Office and a Device User Agreement must be completed by the parent/guardian and student in order for the student to obtain a Chromebook. Please email Dr. Allen with any questions on Chromebooks (
